Former CNN anchor, Don Lemon is set to make a temporary return to the network, not as a host but to promote his new book. Lemon, who was ousted from CNN earlier this year, will appear on Erin Burnett OutFront this Monday to discuss the release. While his return to CNN is brief, it marks his second time back on the network since his highly publicized firing.
Lemon’s media tour doesn’t stop at CNN. The former anchor will also appear on MSNBC’s The ReidOut with Joy Reid and Dan Abrams Live on NewsNation later this week. His book tour has sparked curiosity, as it brings him back into the spotlight after months of relative quiet following his abrupt departure.
One potential source of tension during his media appearances is the lingering bad blood between Lemon and his former CNN colleague, Chris Cuomo. Both men were fired from the network under different circumstances, and according to insiders, the two are not on good terms with one source telling me the pair hate each other.
Meanwhile, CNN has also welcomed back another familiar face in a different capacity. Brian Stelter, the former host of Reliable Sources, has returned to write the newsletter version of his former show. However, sources tell me his new role comes at a fraction of the salary he earned when he was hosting on-air.
