Bulwark and MSNBC Pundit Faces Backlash and Homophobic Abuse Following Criticism of Biden's Debate Performance
Tim Miller Targeted by Supporters After Calling for Biden's Resignation
Tim Miller, a contributor for MSNBC and host of The Bulwark podcast, has been subjected to a barrage of homophobic abuse and attacks on his family by democrat supporters following his criticism of President Joe Biden's performance in the recent presidential debate. Miller, a former Republican National Committee spokesperson, had called for Biden to resign in the wake of what he described as "the worst performance in the history of televised presidential debates."
Miller, who previously criticized Robert Hur's report recommending that Joe Biden not be prosecuted for holding classified documents due to his advanced age, has now changed his stance towards the elderly and frail President.
Miller's change of heart comes in the wake of Biden's lackluster performance in the recent presidential debate, which has prompted widespread criticism and calls for the president to step down. Despite his previous defense of Biden, Miller now believes that the president's age and mental acuity are legitimate concerns that cannot be ignored.
The backlash against Miller began shortly after his comments went public, with supporters of Biden taking to social media to express their outrage. Many of the attacks were homophobic in nature, with some users resorting to slurs and derogatory language to express their disapproval of Miller's stance.
In addition to the homophobic abuse, some individuals, using the hashtag #ByeTimMiller, also targeted Miller's family, posting pictures of his loved ones and making threatening remarks. The attacks on his family prompted Miller to speak out, calling for an end to the harassment and emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable.
"The fact that these lunatics keep posting pictures of my family for the crime of observing that Biden is losing this campaign and losing ground with black voters is reminiscent of the MAGA shit I got in 2016," Miller tweeted. "Call me an asshole! Call me wrong! But my god, stop with this shit."
The incident has once again highlighted the toxic nature of political discourse on social media, with individuals on both sides of the political spectrum resorting to personal attacks and harassment in response to differing opinions. It also underscores the challenges faced by public figures who dare to criticize their own party or express views that run counter to the prevailing narrative.
