EXCLUSIVE: Sam Stein to Succeed Jonathan Lemire as Host of Way Too Early
Longtime Morning Joe Contributor Poised to Take Over as Lemire Joins Morning Joe Full-Time in January
Sam Stein, a longtime Morning Joe contributor and current editor at The Bulwark, is reportedly set to replace Jonathan Lemire as the host of Way Too Early starting in January. Lemire, an AP journalist, is stepping down from the role to become a permanent co-host on Morning Joe, also beginning in January.
Stein, who gained attention for his decision to cover Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign primarily as an entertainment story while at The Huffington Post, is said to be excited about the opportunity to become a full-time MSNBC host. However, the network has yet to make an official announcement.
According to sources within MSNBC, Stein is well-regarded by colleagues. It remains unclear whether he will continue his role at The Bulwark.
